Founded in 1979, Alaska CDC is a non-profit corporation dedicated to improving the lives of Alaskans by working with communities, individuals, and other organizations to improve housing and conserve energy, and to further economic development throughout the state.

Under the management of the Executive Director, Patrick Shiflea, the corporation has managed the expenditure of over $70 million; completed weatherization on more than 7500 individual houses and 560 Public Housing units; rehabilitated over 300 homes; made accessibility improvements to the homes of 250 Alaskan families; and coordinated the construction of 32 new homes through our Mutual Self Help Program.

Alaska CDC works in cooperation with, and/or receives funding from Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, U.S. Department of Energy, the Low-Income Home Heating Program, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  We also work with local governments, tribal organizations, and other community support and service organizations.
